Relatively early we see the first Samsung Galaxy S21 images emerge. And what do these show? In terms of design, the S21 seems a modest upgrade compared to the Galaxy S20. Addition: the renders of the Galaxy S21 Ultra have now surfaced - and added below.

A few days ago, we already wrote that Samsung may launch the Galaxy S21 series in 2021 a month earlier than the S20 this year. Today the first renders of the device appear - about a month earlier than with the Galaxy S20 last year. The puzzle pieces therefore fit. But what do we get to see?
Like last year, it is again picture dealer @OnLeaks who manages to obtain a first set of CAD files, presumably via the cover maker scene. However, he is not the only one who managed to extract these files - similar renders also appear on CoverPigtou.
The distinctive element of the Galaxy S21 is of course the camera hill. The glass bulge contrasts with the - possibly - matte back. The three cameras are a main camera, a wide angle lens and a zoom camera.
At the front, the differences with the Galaxy S20 are a lot less clear. Again we see an "Infinity-O" AMOLED screen, with the front camera in the center of the top edge. The bezels are minimal, and the screen appears completely flat. The screen diagonal of the "base" S21 is approximately 6.2 inches.
All physical buttons - on / off, volume - are again on the right side. At the bottom is a speaker, a USB-C connector, and no headphone jack. The frame of the Galaxy S21 is metal, while the phone itself measures 152 by 71 millimeters. The device is 7.9 mm thick. This makes the Galaxy S21 almost exactly the same size as the S20.
And further?
In addition to this first look at the appearance, more details are of course already known about the Galaxy S21. For example, we know that Samsung's new Exynos 2100 processor is on the list of Galaxy S21 specs. The basic model has a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. You can buy the device in the colors white, gray, pink, purple and silver.
Samsung may choose a similar course for the Galaxy S21 as with the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. The basic model will then be a relatively modest, but nicely finished phone with a not too high price. If you really want the cream of Samsung's salmon, you will have to pay a lot more money for the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

We had barely written the sentence above, or the images of the Galaxy S21 Ultra also surfaced. And indeed: that is the device with the larger camera module. The device has four cameras: the fourth camera is a periscope camera, which is added in addition to the "normal" zoom lens. At least, that's what some rumors say.
With its 6.9 inch screen, it is quite a bit bigger than the S21: 165 by 76 mm to be precise, at 8.9 mm thick. Contrary to recent rumors, the Galaxy S21 Ultra offers no room for an S Pen stylus. Most of the space in the body is still occupied by the 5000 mAh battery - just like the S20 Ultra.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S21 series in January. The release will then take place sometime in February.
