Oppo Reno 4series Revieuw

Today Oppo finally unveiled its new Oppo Reno 4 Series. Although the corona virus has caused the necessary delay for many smartphone manufacturers, the Reno 4 Series seems to be on the market as planned.

Nevertheless, the presentation was a lot different from what was probably imagined in advance. As so often this year, the unveiling of the new telephone series was completely digital.

Oppo has presented three Reno 4 devices for the Benelux. We will tell you more about the specifications of these new 5G ready smartphones below.

On the back of the Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G we find three cameras. The primary 48MP camera with onboard optical image stabilization. This camera is assisted by a 12MP wide angle camera and a 13MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.

Filming is possible in up to 4K at 30 frames per second, including optical and electronic image stabilization. The Ultra Night Video function ensures that you can record the clearest and sharpest images even in low daylight. The Moonlight Video Algorithm is an AI application that increases screen brightness by up to 75% for night shots, and that of the image itself by 33.7%.

One of the great advantages of this smartphone is the presence of Night Mode. In low-light situations, the Reno 4 Pro 5G gives the snapshots a boost in quality if you stand still for 5 to 10 seconds. At the front, a 32MP front camera is incorporated into the display.

Out of the box, the new Reno smartphone runs on ColorOS 7, which is based on Android 10. An update to Android 11 is in the works.

The battery capacity is 4,000mAh. While wireless charging is not an option, the SuperVOOC 65W fast charging technology on board makes up for it in our opinion; According to Oppo, the smartphone is fully charged again within 30 minutes via the USB-C input.

The Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G will be available in Belgium on October 8 for the price of 799 euros in the colors Galactic Blue and Space Black. Until October 31, you will receive a free OPPO Watch 41mm (249 euros) with your purchase in Belgium. In the Netherlands, the release date is October 12 and you will receive a B&O BeoPlay H4 2nd Gen headphones as a gift (300 euros).

Oppo Reno 4 5G

In addition to the Pro version, room has also been made for the 'regular' Oppo Reno 4 5G. The models have many similarities with each other. Thus, the housing matches well and consists of apparently the same materials.

The Full HD + screen resolution is also the same. The Reno 4 5G is blessed with a slightly smaller screen diagonal, namely 6.43 inches. The 90Hz refresh rate is maintained. Despite the smaller dimensions, the weight is 183 grams, 11 grams more than the Pro version.

As with the Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G, the standard version has a Snapdragon 765G under the hood that must control the whole. The storage capacity is 128GB and is assisted by 8GB RAM.

The big difference with the Pro version is reflected in the camera setup. The regular Reno 4 5G is assisted by a primary 48MP camera without optical image stabilization. Furthermore, an 8MP wide-angle camera and 2MP depth sensor are included.

The Oppo Reno 4 5G also includes a night mode, although you will have to do without a telephoto camera, and the quality of the wide angle on paper is less. Recording videos is possible at a maximum in 4K at 30 frames per second. Instead of optical, you have to rely on electronic image stabilization. At the front, a 32MP front camera is placed in the display. Instead of a round camera hole, the Reno 4 5G has a somewhat more horizontal hole.

The battery capacity of the device is 4,000mAh and there is also support for SuperVOOC 2.0 65W fast charging. Wireless charging is not possible. The Reno 4 5G also runs out of the box on ColorOS 7, based on Android 10.

The Oppo Reno 4 5G will appear in Belgium on October 8 for 599 euros in Galactic Blue and Space Black. Until October 31, you will receive a free OPPO Watch 41mm (249 euros) with your purchase. In the Netherlands, sales start on October 12 and you will also receive a free Oppo Watch 41mm until October 25.

Oppo Reno 4 Z 5G

The cheapest model is the Oppo Reno 4 Z 5G. The Oppo Reno 4 Z 5G has a slightly larger 6.57-inch Full HD + display and is the largest of the three in terms of dimensions. The special thing about the Reno 4 Z 5G is that a 120Hz refresh rate is available with this model. Instead of an OLED display, this is therefore an LCD screen. Furthermore, with 184 grams, it weighs the most of the three.

Under the hood there is a MediaTek MT6873V Dimensity 800 chipset, including 5G support. The storage is 128GB / 8GB RAM. The memory is not expandable.

The smartphone uses a primary 48MP camera, 8MP wide angle camera, 2MP macro sensor, and 2MP depth sensor. A dual 16MP and 2MP camera has been incorporated on the front, the latter of which is a depth sensor.

The 4000mAh battery capacity of this model can be charged wired at a speed of 18W. Out of the box, the smartphone runs on ColorOS 7, based on Android 10.

The Oppo Reno 4 Z 5G will be on the market in Belgium on October 8 for 399 euros in the black version only. When you buy a Reno 4 Z5G you get free W51 wireless earbuds (119 euros). The smartphone will be for sale in the Netherlands from October 12 and you will also receive free W51 wireless earbuds until October 25.
